In-mouth wearable device

entoothiast AG, an innovative spin-off born from a collaboration between CSEM, Ivoclar, and the University Center for Dentistry in Basel, is transforming oral and systemic health monitoring with the iTOOTH—a groundbreaking in-mouth wearable device. Designed to address the gaps in traditional healthcare systems, which often rely on infrequent check-ups or self-reported data, iTOOTH will provide real-time, continuous biomarker monitoring.

Saliva, a biomarker-rich medium

This discreet, non-invasive device utilizes saliva, a biomarker-rich medium, to deliver continuous insights into the user’s oral and overall health. “With this device, we can detect changes in baseline values and intervene with preventive measures,” explains Nadine Lobsiger, CEO of entoothiast.

The innovation is powered by CSEM’s advanced biosensors and low-power miniaturized electronics. These cutting-edge technologies are complemented by Ivoclar’s deep expertise in dental materials and design. Stéphane Follonier, R&D Technology Director at Ivoclar, emphasizes the importance of collaboration: “By combining Ivoclar’s dental expertise with CSEM’s innovation in biosensors, we’ve redefined the boundaries of intraoral biosensing technology.”
