6. Website analytics, UX analytics and visitor identification

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure website traffic, understand how visitors use our website, compile aggregated reports and improve the performance of our content and services.

Hotjar

We use Hotjar to better understand how visitors interact with our website and to improve usability, content structure, and user experience. Hotjar  collect pseudonymised interaction data such as clicks, scrolling behaviour, page navigation and session replay data.

SalesViewer®

This website uses SalesViewer® technology from SalesViewer® GmbH in order to collect and store company-related website usage data for marketing, market research and optimisation purposes.

For this purpose, a JavaScript-based code is used to collect company-related data and corresponding website usage. The data collected using this technology are encrypted by means of a non-reversible one-way function (hashing). The data are immediately pseudonymised and are not used by CSEM to identify website visitors personally.

The recording and storage of data by SalesViewer® can be objected to at any time with effect for the future by using the SalesViewer® opt-out mechanism. If you use the opt-out function, an opt-out cookie may be stored on your device to remember your choice.

7. With whom do we share personal data?

We may share personal data on a need-to-know basis with:

  • authorised CSEM personnel and departments;
  • IT, hosting, security and infrastructure providers acting on our behalf;
  • providers supporting website analytics, UX analytics, CRM, email communication and event management;
  • service providers assisting with newsletters, event registration, communications or content distribution;
  • co-organisers or partners of specific events, where clearly indicated on the relevant event page;
  • public authorities, courts, regulators or other third parties where required by law or necessary to protect our rights.

Where relevant, our processors include providers such as Microsoft for Dynamics 365 and related cloud services, Google for analytics services, Hotjar for UX analytics, and SalesViewer® for company visitor identification.

We do not sell personal data.

8. Where is your data stored and are data transferred abroad?

Personal data are stored on CSEM systems and on systems operated by trusted service providers acting on our behalf.

Depending on the service used, data may be processed in Switzerland or in the European Economic Area. Where personal data are transferred outside Switzerland or outside jurisdictions recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, CSEM will implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses, or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.

9. How long do we retain your personal data?

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which they were collected, for as long as required to manage the relevant relationship or service, and for as long as necessary to comply with legal, regulatory or contractual retention requirements.

As a general rule:

  • contact and professional relationship data are retained for the duration of the relationship and for an appropriate period thereafter;
  • communication and event data are retained for as long as necessary to manage the event or request and any related follow-up;
  • newsletter and campaign interaction data are retained until you unsubscribe or object, subject to any necessary retention for compliance purposes;
  • website analytics and tracking data are retained according to the settings and retention periods configured in the relevant tools;
  • Hotjar recordings and heatmap data are retained for up to 365 days;
  • SalesViewer® data are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for their intended purpose and no legal retention obligation applies;
  • consent records are retained as needed to demonstrate and manage user choices.

10. Use of Microsoft Dynamics 365

We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 services, including Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics 365 Marketing / Customer Insights, to manage professional contacts, event registrations, newsletters and communication campaigns.

These services may process personal data such as contact information, subscription data, registration data and communication interaction data, including statistics relating to email openings and clicks, in order to manage and improve our communications and event-related activities.

11. Security of your data

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Data submitted through our website are transmitted using encryption technologies such as HTTPS.
