  • CSEM’s new dry room enhances Switzerland’s battery innovation ecosystem by broadening access to advanced development conditions, complementing capabilities already established by leading industrial players and enabling wider collaboration across research and industry.
  • The facility enables work on highly moisture‑sensitive materials such as lithium metal, which are essential for future batteries with higher energy density, improved safety, and lower costs.
  • This open access is strategic for Switzerland, as battery cells are a core element of the energy transition and industrial value creation, while access to such facilities remains highly concentrated internationally.
