R&D Engineer in Quantum technologies (F/M/D) 100%

The Quantum technologies group within CSEM’s Instrumentation Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, is currently looking for a R&D Engineer in Quantum technologies.
Your mission
- Contribute to multidisciplinary industrial and research projects.
- Develop innovative solutions and participate in the R&D efforts in the field of quantum sensing technologies and time and frequency.
Your Responsbilities
- Ensure the technical execution of R&D projects including laboratory work, design, simulation and analysis in the field of miniature quantum sensors (optically pumped magnetometers, RF sensors, …) and/or atomic clocks.
- Continuously keep aware of the state of the art in the field.
- Proactively propose innovative solutions and solve complex problems.
- Be involved in multidisciplinary activities and interact with engineers from different technical background.
- Contribute to projects acquisition through e.g. offer writing.
- Maintain and develop good relationships with our partners and participate in customers meetings.
- Represent CSEM in workshops or conferences and maintain and develop internal and external professional network.
Your profile
Know how
- Superior level of education (PhD preferred) with >5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Broad understanding of concepts and principles in quantum sensing technologies and/or time and frequency and knowledge of these elements in other disciplines, in particular:
- Quantum atomic sensors development and testing.
- System-level design and integration.
- Atomic clocks, time and frequency and metrology.
- Laser stabilization and optical spectroscopy.
- Simulation (e.g. with PYTHON or relevant SW).
- Knowledge of CAO software (SolidWords) a plus Experience in project management is considered an asset.
