Point-of-care platform for early cancer detection and therapy monitoring

CSEM’s disposable microfluidic cartridge offers rapid, reliable cancer monitoring at the point of care. Processing a single drop of blood, it automates sample handling and biomarker detection with integrated sensors. The all-in-one design ensures safe, accurate diagnostics outside traditional labs, supporting personalized treatment decisions in clinics and doctors’ offices.

BioCDX, the biophotonic diagnostics device with a disposable microfluidic cartridge.
cartridges tailored to sample preparation, pre-processing, and seamless sensor integration

How it works

1- Sample input: A single drop of blood is added to a sealed cartridge.

2- Automated workflow: Once inserted into the reader, the cartridge:

  • Filters the sample
  • Prepares plasma
  • Meters the right volume
  • Guides fluids through microchannels for detection

3- Biomarker detection: Optical sensors functionalized with antibodies detect cancer-related proteins.

4- Safe disposal: All reagents and waste remain sealed inside the cartridge, minimizing contamination risks.

No complex steps. No manual pipetting. Just drop, close, and read.

Partner with CSEM to bring your diagnostic solution from lab to clinic

CSEM is working on extending this technology to other types of body fluids—such as urine and saliva—to broaden diagnostic use. [to check with TLS team: We’re also moving toward mass production through optimized cartridge design and embedded components.

Whether you need support in biosensor integration, sample preparation, or PoC device development, our team can help accelerate your innovation.
