The “BizDev & Operations” group of our “Medtech” Business Unit based in Bern, Switzerland, is currently looking for a Business Development Manager.


Your mission

To promote the development and growth of CSEM’s Business Unit Medtech (“BU-D”), the Business Development Manager works in the field of medical and consumer health applications on the acquisition of new and the management of existing customers and contributes to BU-D’s strategic planning.


Your responsibilities

The Business Development Manager is a member of BU-D’s R&BD and BizDev team, and his/her main responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends in the Medtech and Consumer Health sectors, provide input for BU-D’s strategic planning, e.g. in defining target markets and/or aligning its research activities.
  • Keeping up with the latest industry developments, including market positioning of corporate competitors; assessing customer needs and BU-D’s ability to meet those needs.
  • Identifying opportunities for BU-D’s services in its defined target markets; generating sales leads through networking at trade fairs, exhibitions, and events or contacting potential industry customers; following up with new leads.
  • Preparing project proposals for inquiries from industrial customers and negotiating and follow-up contracts.
  • Managing existing industrial customers; developing and nurturing relationships with key customer accounts.
  • Reviewing project planning and resource utilization in collaboration with the respective group leaders and project managers.
  • Management of assigned industry projects and coaching of junior project managers; verifying project documents such as monthly progress reports, controlling project deadlines and costs, invoicing.
  • Proposing and participating in the development of project management methods and tools; using customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage interactions with customers.
  • Creating marketing materials such as website info, brochures, flyers, or demo videos in collaboration with the CSEM marketing department
  • Contributing to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality management system to ensure that BU-D complies with all applicable regulations and standards, in particular ISO 13485


Your profile


  • Preferably professional experience in the fields of Medtech, consumer health and with systems engineering
  • Preferably some experience in sales and/or business development
  • Strong analytical skills and strong team spirit
  • Very good written and spoken English skills, good German and/or French skills, knowledge of the other language is an advantage
