Your mission
At CSEM Schwyz, we're extending our brand-new team at the intersection of cutting-edge research and real-world application. As a (Senior) Robotics & AI Systems Engineer in the Physical AI & Robotics group, you'll develop intelligent systems that give robots eyes, intuition, and the ability to act in dynamic environments. From factory floors to outdoor environments, you'll work hands-on with real robots to turn AI algorithms into industrial impact.
Your responsibilities
AI & Robotics Developement (70%)
- Design, implement, and evaluate deep learning algorithms for:
- high‑level robotic control (reinforcement learning, policy learning, decision-making),
- computer vision (2D/3D perception, object detection, semantic understanding).
- Develop simulation‑to‑real pipelines for training, testing, and validating learned policies.
- Integrate and fuse multi‑sensor data (RGB‑D, LiDAR, IMU, force/torque sensors) to enable robust scene understanding and control.
- Work hands-on with robotic systems: setup, calibration, testing, iterative improvement.
Project Leadership & Management (15%)
- Take full ownership of end‑to‑end project execution, including planning, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and delivery.
Acquisition & Customer Interaction (15%)
- Support the creation of proposals, project plans, and commercial offers.
- Support customer workshops, ideation sessions, and technical discussions.
Your profile
Know-how
- MSc or PhD in Robotics, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, or a related field.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and C++ (PyTorch, RL libraries).
- Solid experience in deep learning, especially:
- Computer vision for robotic perception.
- Reinforcement learning or imitation learning,
- Knowledge of robotic control, planning, and perception.
- (Senior) 5+ years of relevant experience in robotics/AI.
- German skills or willing to learn
- Preferred:
- Experience with robotic manipulation
- Experience Foundation Models and VLAs
- Experience deploying AI models to embedded/edge devices.
- Experience with ROS2 and integration/debugging of robotic stacks.
