 (Senior) Robotics & AI Engineer

 

Your mission

At CSEM Schwyz, we're building a brand-new team at the intersection of cutting-edge research and real-world application. As a (Senior) Robotics & AI Systems Engineer in the Physical AI & Robotics group, you'll develop intelligent systems that give robots eyes, intuition, and the ability to act in dynamic environments. From factory floors to outdoor environments, you'll work hands-on with real robots to turn AI algorithms into industrial impact.

Your responsibilities 

  • Design and implement perception and control algorithms for 2D/3D object detection, pose estimation, and semantic understanding
  • Integrate multi-sensor inputs (e.g. RGB-D, LiDAR, IMU, force/torque sensors) for fused scene understanding
  • Deploy and optimize AI modules on robotic hardware (Jetson, edge devices)
  • Work directly with robotic hardware: assembling, testing, and iterating on physical systems
  • Independently lead work packages or smaller projects, including responsibility for resource coordination, task management, budgeting, reporting and scheduling
  • (Senior) Take full ownership of project leadership, overseeing planning, execution, and delivery across technical, financial, and organizational dimensions
  • (Senior) Contribute actively to project acquisition by preparing and conducting customer workshops, delivering presentations, and supporting the creation of proposals and commercial offers

 

Your profile

Know-how

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Vision, Robotics, ML, or related field
  • Strong coding skills in Python and C++ (PyTorch, OpenCV, …)
  • Experience with integration and debugging of ROS2 robotic stacks
  • Expertise in computer vision (calibration, stereo/depth, SLAM, segmentation)
  • Solid foundation in machine learning and robotics perception
  • (Senior) 5+ years relevant experience
  • Preferred: Understanding of real-world sim-to-real deployment challenges
  • Preferred: Experience with deploying AI models to embedded or edged devices

  • Enthusiasm for hands-on robot work and iterative system improvement
  • Effective communication with internal stakeholders and industrial partners
