What if the very devices powering our world could also protect it? In 2022, the world generated a record 62 billion kilograms of e-waste; from which only about 22.3% was properly recycled. The remainder is largely unrecyclable and potentially hazardous: hidden within the polished finishes of modern consumer electronics. As our world becomes increasingly reliant on embedded electronic devices, from smart wearables to precision agriculture, the environmental footprint of these products becomes impossible to ignore.
