A special focus will be laid on the EU Chips Act and Quantum Initiative with a combined budget of more than €44 billions, of which a large part will be dedicated to photonic research and industrial sovereignty. While this funding is predominantly reserved for EU member states, it is nevertheless impacting Switzerland already today, resulting in competitive challenges, but also opportunities.
