Stage
Internship in Development of RF, mmWave and Sub-THz Measurement Setups (F/M/D)
Facing the challenges of our time - Help us grow and be more impactful!
Your mission
CSEM develops innovative wireless, sensing and high-frequency technologies that require reliable experimental characterisation from RF frequencies up to the sub-THz range. The objective of this internship is to develop, assemble and validate measurement benches for RF components, antennas, materials and advanced electromagnetic structures. The work will combine hands-on laboratory activities, RF instrumentation, calibration, measurement automation, data processing and comparison with electromagnetic simulations.
Duration: 4 to 6 months
Your responsibilities
The student will first become familiar with the available RF, mmWave and sub-THz instrumentation, laboratory safety rules, calibration methods and existing measurement facilities.
After this initial training phase, the student will contribute to several of the following activities:
- Develop and align free-space a sub-THz measurement setup for the characterisation of materials and metasurfaces.
- Design and assemble an RF measurement bench for active RF components.
- Contribute to antenna characterisation activities.
- Automate instrument control, data acquisition, processing and report generation.
- Assess measurement repeatability and uncertainty, compare experimental results with electromagnetic simulations, and document the developed setups and procedures.
