The Quantum technologies group within CSEM’s Instrumentation Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager.
Your mission
- Manage and track the execution of complex, multi-disciplinary projects in the field of quantum sensing, including the system-level development of quantum sensors and atomic clocks based on hot vapors and NV centers.
- Leverage strong scientific, technical expertise and leadership to drive team members and customers towards project objectives.
- Transform opportunities into business by playing a key role in public and industrial project acquisition and supporting customer negotiations.
- Contribute to both industrial and research effort in the field of quantum technologies.
Your Responsbilities
- Lead and manage the execution of multiple projects in the field of quantum sensors, through active monitoring of all aspects of the project ensuring the production of deliverables in time, in budget and with the requested level of excellence.
- Address potential technical, resources, budget, planning or customer issues.
- Report the projects results in a clear and concise manner, both internally and externally.
- Actively work on projects acquisition and proposals writing.
- Maintain and develop good relationships with our partners: lead customers meetings, sell results, ideas, products in a convincing way and actively influence our customers’ decision making.
- Capture unexpected business opportunities and promote our technologies portfolio.
- Represent CSEM in workshops or conferences.
- Provide the project team members as well as a broad range of internal and external partners with a clear leadership and an efficient communication including in challenging situations.
- Continuously keep aware of the state of the art and identify market demands and drivers in the field of quantum technologies.
- Contribute to the technical execution of R&D projects in the field of miniature quantum sensors and/or atomic clocks.
- Act as an ambassador towards our external partners and develop internal and external professional network.
Your profile
Know how
- MSc or PhD degree with 10+ years of successful professional experience in the field.
- Strong project management skills.
- Broad understanding of concepts and principles in the field of quantum sensing and time and frequency, and knowledge of these elements in other disciplines. In particular:
- Quantum atomic sensors development and testing.
- System design and integration.
- Atomic clocks, time and frequency and metrology.
- Laser stabilization and optical spectroscopy.
- Design and development for space applications.

- Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills as well as natural leadership.
- Team player.
- Customer and results-oriented.
- Ability to collaborate with various internal partners across the organization.
- Out of the box and innovative thinking .
- Natural curiosity and ability/interest to deal with multidisciplinary activities.
- Fluency in English and French (knowledge of German would be a plus).
