(Senior) Simulation & AI Engineer for Robotics
Your mission
At CSEM Schwyz, we're building a brand-new team at the intersection of cutting-edge research and real-world application. As a (Senior) Simulation & AI Engineer for Robotics in the Physical AI & Robotics group, you'll develop intelligent systems that give robots eyes, intuition, and the ability to act in dynamic environments. From factory floors to outdoor environments, you'll work hands-on with real robots to turn AI algorithms into industrial impact.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement high-fidelity robotic simulations (e.g. Isaac Lab, Unity)
- Build reinforcement learning environments and policy training pipelines
- Develop sim-to-real strategies including domain randomization and transfer learning
- Integrate learned policies into control stacks and test on robotic hardware
- Independently lead work packages or smaller projects, including responsibility for resource coordination, task management, budgeting, reporting and scheduling
- (Senior) Take full ownership of project leadership, overseeing planning, execution, and delivery across technical, financial, and organizational dimensions
- (Senior) Contribute actively to project acquisition by preparing and conducting customer workshops, delivering presentations, and supporting the creation of proposals and commercial offers
Your profile
Know-how
- MSc or PhD in Robotics, ML, Simulation Engineering, or related field
- Strong software skills in Python and C++
- Set up and configuration of simulation environments with realistic sensor models
- Solid understanding of reinforcement learning algorithms for robotics
- (Senior) 5+ years’ experience in simulation, learning, or control of robotic systems
- Preferred: Understanding and experience with sim-to-real challenges
- Preferred: Familiarity with control theory, robotic dynamics, and multi-agent systems
