The “Energy Systems” group of our “Sustainable Energy” Business Unit based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is currently looking for a Battery System Specialist.
Your mission
Your mission is the design and putting into operation of battery systems. You implement hardware systems with power ratings up to 100 kW and voltage levels ranging from 48 V up to 800 V and implement the required system level software that is required to operate these systems safely.
Your responsibilities
- You design power system and define the hard- and software architecture of such systems.
- You perform the system-level analysis, including applicable standards and safety procedures.
- You plan and conduct design reviews together with the project teams.
- You initiate and follow-up component procurement, including ordering and coordination of external contractors.
- You realize battery system prototypes and demonstrators up to 100 kW and 800 V.
- You develop test and validation plans for the functional verification at prototype level.
- You realize the functional verification of the battery prototype and demonstrators.
- You document your work, write technical reports/presentations, and share your insights with the team.
Your profile
Know-how
- MSc degree in Electrical or Control Engineering or related fields
- Excellent knowledge in high-voltage and high-power system design and associated regulation/standards
- Excellent knowledge in battery safety standards and associated testing and validation protocols
- Good knowledge in communication protocols and associated software (TCP, IPv4/6, etc.)
- Good knowledge in mechanical design and prototyping/manufacturing
- Proven experience in prototyping of power systems up to 100 kW
- Proven experience in both low-voltage (< 50V) and high-voltage systems (< 1kV)
- Proven experience in using communication standards, e.g., wired (I2C, SPI, etc.) & wireless (BLE, WiFi, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in testing and validation by using appropriate laboratory equipment
- Professional proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Experience in modelling/simulation of battery/energy systems (e.g., in python, Matlab, etc.) being a plus
