 The “Energy Systems” group of our “Sustainable Energy” Business Unit based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is currently looking for a: Energy Control and Software Engineer (100%)

 

Your mission

Your mission is the development of advanced control and optimization strategies for energy systems. You participate to R&D projects with a strong innovation focus to help industrial companies solve problems in the field of energy management, simulation, and forecasting.

 

Your responsibilities

• You design control and optimization strategies for energy systems & define associated software architectures.
• You design, implement and deploy full-stack applications for energy systems in real-world systems on PC-based or embedded systems, including data acquisition & management, machine-learning, control, optimization algorithms and performance evaluation.
• You implement software for control and optimization strategies on PC-based and embedded systems.
• You implement software to acquire and store data for performance evaluation from real-world test sites.
• You model energy systems, implement them in suitable tools (EnergyPlus, etc.) and run performance tests.
• You establish test plans for the performance evaluation of the implemented software based on real-world data.
• You document your work, make technical reports/presentations, and share insights with the team.

Your profile

Know-how

• MSc or PhD degree in Energy, Control Engineering, or related fields
• Strong knowledge in signal processing, control, and optimization
• Knowledge in modelling of energy systems and associated simulation tools
• Proven experience in the implementation of control and optimization strategies for energy systems
• Proven experience in the use of energy modelling software tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, IDA ICE, etc.)
• Proven experience in Python/C programming and software development tools (e.g., Git, Docker, etc.)
• Knowledge of and experience in implementation and verification of industry-grade software
• Knowledge of requirements and experience in implementation for machine learning being a plus
• Knowledge of requirements and experience in implementation for embedded systems being a plus
• Professional proficiency in English (oral and written)
